Ultra Express Microspheres are internally labeled polystyrene beads available with emission at 450 nm, 525 nm, 575 nm, and 665 nm. Unlike traditional beads prepared using solvent swelling or entrapment methods, Cytodiagnostics proprietary method produces beads with sharp emission peaks, intense emission and photostability.
ZeptoTM Ultra Express Microspheres features a unique thin metal coating, which not only increases the overall stability of the beads in common biological buffers but also significantly simplifies conjugation. Biological molecules such as proteins, oligonucleotides and other ligands that have accessible amine or thiol-groups can readily be adsorbed directly to the surface. No activation or manipulations of the beads are required prior to conjugation and the microspheres can simply be mixed with the protein or other ligand of interest followed by incubation for one hour to complete the conjugation process. Conjugation to our ZeptoTM Express polystyrene beads is more efficient and reproducible than standard coupling to carboxylated beads using EDC/NHS reaction chemistry, see figure below. This translates into savings in cost, quality and time when developing and performing your assay.
